Brasserie d'Ecaussinnes

Long time ago there were 6 breweries in Ecaussinnes. At that time there were about 3500 breweries in Belgium. Actually we have around 127 left. One of them, the "Brasserie des Carrières" started making beer in 1897. They made the Ultra beer until 1970. In 1972 production of the "Ultra" was stopped.
In 1999, Hugues and Isabel Van Poucke decided to install a brewery in a nice restored farm-castle. During the summer of 2001 the Ultramour beer was made.
 

	Ultra Ambree This is the original beer from Ecaussinnes. 7% alcohol. It is spiced, but you don't really taste the spices. Nice amber color, lightly caramelized with a light bitter taste at the end. A very nice beer, recommended by Michael Jackson.
	Ultra Blonde Ultra Blonde is a light colored brew, 8 %, and nicely hopped. It exhibits a fruity flavor coming from the yeast which gives a pleasant taste in the mouth.
	Ultra Brune Ultra Brune is a Belgian Dark Strong Ale, 10 % of alcohol, a light Scotch-aftertaste, a nice body coming from the 4 different kinds of malt (one pale, two caramelized and one torrified malt).
