LOCATION:
The brewery is located 100km Southeast of Prague towards Brno in the town of Havlickuv Brod in the region of East Bohemia
HISTORY:
The brewery is named after the town of Havlickuv Brod which in turn is named after a famous local Czech writer Karel Havlicek Borovsky (1821-1856), who was fighting against the powerful Habsburg monarchy by writing "revolutionary and rebellious" articles. He was publishing these texts in newspapers and also in his books. His activities were very unpleasant to the monarchy and after some time he was sent from Bohemia to exile in Brixen.
